The high-level sessions will build on expertise and inputs on pollution from nutrients, chemicals, litter and physical alteration of watershed to sea, with content from Mission Ocean & Waters projects such as EcoDaLLi , as well as other Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe projects and European Partnerships, such as Water4All and Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership.
We are delighted to invite you to our workshop, focused on discussing Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and policy recommendations for the Danube and Black Sea Region. The event is organized by the Association of Danube River Municipalities "Danube" (ADRM), GeoEcoMar, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests from Romania (MEWF), the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" (EAMA) and Steinbeis Europa Zentrum (SEZ) as EcoDaLLi Partners in collaboration with the DaWetRest project.
Objective
As part of the EcoDaLLi project, ‘Coordination and Support Action’ (CSA) of the Danube and Black Sea Lighthouse, the goal is to develop an integrated approach to support innovators in implementing NBS to protect and restore the basins ecosystem and biodiversity.
To achieve this, the project has developed:
i) A methodology for assessing and implementing NBS in innovative projects,
ii) A best-practice catalogue of NBS along the Danube River, and
iii) Policy recommendations for building an environment conducive to the application of NBS.
This workshop aims to gather feedback from key stakeholders to ensure these tools and recommendations are practical and tailored to local contexts. The DaWetRest project, an ‘Innovation Action’ of the Lighthouse, will present its activities and Demo site near Burgas, showcasing an innovative action for freshwater restoration, as well as its regulatory context.
